Corinthians gives up on Zanardi; Cuca and foreigners come into play – Lance!
Without the São Bernardo coach, three names stand out to take Mano Menezes’ place: Cuca, Luís Zubeldía, and Gabriel Milito. The coach denied any involvement, but his image was tarnished at Parque São Jorge.
Before making any contact with the coach, the board will evaluate the fans’ reaction to a possible return of Cuca, who led the team for two games last season but decided to leave after protests from the supporters. The first person caught the attention of the board when the team faced Argentinos Juniors in the Libertadores last year, and Zubeldía was targeted by São Paulo before the hiring of Thiago Carpini.
Both are currently without a club. The Corinthians leadership, including Augusto Melo, Rubão, and Fabinho Soldado, will meet in the next few hours at CT Joaquim Grava to discuss the mentioned names and plan the next steps.
For the derby this Wednesday (7) against Santos, the team is expected to have interim coach Thiago Kosloski on the sidelines.
