Hugo Calderano will not participate in the Table Tennis World Championships
Hugo Calderano, currently ranked seventh by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), is focusing on preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. In January, he competed in three WTT tournaments, part of the elite global table tennis circuit, in Qatar and India, where he won a silver medal.

He expressed his commitment to table tennis and Brazilian sports, aiming to arrive at the Olympic Games in the best possible condition to achieve an unprecedented result for Brazil. All decisions made by him and his technical team are focused on this goal.
As a result, he has decided not to participate in the World Championships in Busan in February. In his absence, the team for the World Championships has been finalized, with players such as Carlos Ishida, Guilherme Teodoro, and Vitor Ishiy representing in the men’s tournament.
Meanwhile, the women’s team will include the Takahashi sisters, Bruna and Giulia, as well as Bruna Alexandre.
