Bia Haddad e Thiago Wild treinam com equipe brasileira na United Cup – Lance!
The Brazilian team had a complete training session on Wednesday at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, in preparation for the United Cup, a mixed team competition. The national team will debut on Thursday night, Friday morning, against Spain, with Thiago Wild facing Alejandro Fokina and Beatriz Haddad Maia facing Spanish player Sara Sorribes, starting at 11 PM. Bia Maia trained on the central court with Carol Meligeni, an athlete from ADK Tennis, Itajaí (SC), while Thiago Wild practiced with Felipe Meligeni and was also accompanied by Marcelo Melo.
The team participated in a photo shoot during media day, and there was an interactive session between Wild and Bia Haddad, the leaders of the Brazilian team in singles. After the match against Spain, Brazil will face Poland on Saturday, January 30th, starting at 6 AM, with Beatriz Haddad Maia facing the world’s number 1, Iga Swiatek, and Thiago Wild facing the ninth-ranked player, Hubert Hurkacz. The mixed doubles match will conclude the confrontation. The best team from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals, or the best second place finisher from the three groups in the event in Perth. The semifinals and final will be held in Sydney on Saturday, January 6th, and Sunday, January 7th.
